THE INSANITY OF HUMAN GREED

 THE INSANITY OF HUMAN GREED

Gone are the days when the whole society used to be like a family. The days when the word "Home" didn't mean only four-wall confinement but each and every house of the colony.
Unfortunately, these were the days when mankind was not affected by a disease, "THE GREED".

Well, this rapacity didn't exist from the time immemorial. This evil slowly forged into human nature and made the people more egocentric and self-centered.

Today, human greed has crossed all the limits and has even neglected humanity.

The growing greediness has not only promoted egotism among the people but has affected every aspect of human life.
Here, are few of the egregious impacts that our greed has led to-

  • THE DESTRUCTION FACED BY The NATURE-The father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi once quoted,"  There are enough resources to satisfy everyone's need but not for anybody's greed".
Today, the aptness of this quote can be clearly observed, as the incautious use of resources to satisfy the unending greed, has led to an acute shortage of resources such as water, fossil fuels, soil and now, humans are deprived of even pure oxygen to breathe in.

Deforestation, air pollution, global warming, and soil erosion are some examples of environmental degradation, caused due to the acquisitiveness of humans.

  • BLACK MARKETING AND CORRUPTION-
The solemnity of human greed can be understood by observing the conditions of our country during the global pandemic.
While other countries are distributing free masks and hand sanitizers to their citizens, the greedy wolves of our country saw this epidemic as an excellent opportunity to increase their profit through " Black Marketing ".  As a result, instead of distributing the items for free, the prices of these items rose, making the situation worst.

Similarly," Corruption",  is another example of human avarice. This evil has hindered the pace of development of our
country. At every government office, we are forced to pay a certain amount of money to the so-called "Babu's" to make our work done.

  • ACQUISITIVE PUPPETS AND THE DIRTY POLITICS-With the belief that" With money in hand we can rule the materialistic world", people have become so unsighted that they have sold their loyalty, have refused from speaking truth and have become unsympathetic.
Nowadays, politics depend upon your financial background because the more money you own the more MP's and MLA's you would be able to keep under your control.

THE UNSCRUPULOUS MANKIND HAS INCREASED THE INJUSTICE AROUND THE WORLD.

  •  INCREASING DISTRUST AMONG THE PEOPLE-The growing greed among the people to acquire more and more things have made them self obsessed. The growing cases of swindling, theft, monetary scams have made people more hesitant than before.

Now, people think twice before talking to a stranger. Egomania and greediness have made such suspicion grew even stronger.

  • INCREASE IN FRAUDULENT CRIMES-The continual desire to acquire the monetary possessions has led to an exponential increase in the number of fraudulent cases. The misconception about money that money can buy everything has attracted more and more people towards this crime.

THE CUPIDITY OF HUMAN NATURE HAS DEFIED THE HUMANITY.

Well, these were some of the drastic impacts of human avarice. Now the most important question that arises is

HOW TO GET RID OF THIS?

In my opinion, we can get rid of this evil only by being self-satisfied. Being satisfied with your achievements is what this evil is demanding to leave.
We can achieve complacency by understanding our financial situation and by resisting our dirty desire to become rich and powerful through unfair means.
Moreover, educating people and inculcating good mannerisms can also help in preventing this greed from growing.

AT LAST, I WOULD LIKE TO CONCLUDE THAT "HUMAN GREED" IS THE ROOT CAUSE FOR ALL  THE SOCIAL EVILS, AND IT SHOULD BE COMBATED TO PREVENT THE FURTHER  TERRIFIC CONSEQUENCES.
